Summary
Bar 1 (right): cedarwood, ylang-ylang and bergamot. French red clay for colour. Bar 2 (left): lemon and bergamot These bars had some issues. Very slow trace, followed by failed zap tests (yes I tasted them, and yes they tasted shockingly like 9-volt batteries), with very high ph 11-12. Lye unreacted. I tried wrapping the second bar in a tea towel and covering it with a chopping board to keep some heat in, hoping to improve gel phase, but both came out unreacted. I salvaged these batches by converting to hot process. Put in slow cooker on lowest setting with some water. Waited for them to melt, then added ~30g of additional olive oil. Left on for a couple hours, mixing occasionally. Both fully reacted, and are safe to use, though they lost much of their scent, especially the lemon one. The final bars are not as clean looking either, with some lumps from bits of soap that dried at the side of the slow cooker. Try cold process oven process next
